It is our mission to enable this group of people to overcome the hurdles inherent in publishing and increase representation in fiction literature. The author must be either neurodivergent or a member of an under-represented group and one or more significant characters must face the challenges of being neurodivergent or a member of an under-represented group.
We will not accept works where the character is a part of one of those groups, but the challenges inherent in being in that group are not addressed as a core element of the story (i.e. no token characters). Ask yourself if someone reading the work who meets the same criteria would read your book and say, "I feel represented."--If the answer is no, then the work does not meet our publishing requirements.
Works will be read by a Bookish Nerds Publishing LLC staff member who has final say as to whether a work qualifies or not.
